Beijing Beinnale 2010

This speculative tower has been conceived as an expandable, complex structure composed of generative elements. These structural components were generated as part of ongoing research into plesiohedra, polyhedra which can be used to generate tessellations of space. BKK’s study began with modules based on a lesser known plesiohedron, the bisymmetric hendecahedron, an 11-sided polyhedron. Grasshopper parametric modelling was used to assemble irregular constructions from these base modules, transformed throughout a distorted array with individual units responding to local conditions.
