Monash University Building H Basement Refurbishment

Building H at Monash University’s Caulfield Campus houses the Faculty of Information Technology and the departments of Accounting and Finance, Econometrics and Business Statistics, and Economics. The basement foyer of Building H services four lecture theatres, office, and syndicate rooms for the Monash Postgraduate Association, a café tenancy and various plant rooms, totaling around 480 square meters.

BKK Architects are currently undertaking a complete refurbishment of this basement area with a proposal that looks to introduce temporary gallery and function areas as well as social spaces for informal learning and interaction. The design utilizes a consistent architectural language – one that improves way finding throughout the facility and announces its presence at ground level.
