Located in Point Lonsdale at the head of Port Phillip Bay, this compact house rejects notions of the ‘Holiday Mansion’ by the sea, in favour of a more relaxed environment, characteristic of the 1950’s and 60’s beach shacks that predominate the area. The house focuses on contextual details from the surrounding houses such as the skillion roof, deep eaves and expressed window mullions. These details are accentuated and exaggerated to a new contemporary reality.
