The Calder Woodburn Rest Area is an iconic public facility located adjacent to the Goulburn Valley Highway. Undertaken with VicRoads, the brief called for a tough piece of urban infrastructure that would encourage drivers to take time to rest during long journeys. The roof serves as both shelter and sign within the landscape, celebrating the culture of the road and acting as a nodal point in a continuing journey. This facility provides a vital role in reducing driver fatigue and reducing accidents.
