The revitalisation of Lonsdale Street forms part of the larger Revitalising Central Dandenong Urban Masterplan, undertaken by BKK Architects in conjunction with Taylor Cullity Lethlean. The revitalisation of Lonsdale Street in Dandenong returns the main street to its former position as one of the premier boulevards in Melbourne and a gateway to the East of Victoria. The revitalisation strategy involves transforming the street from a car dominated realm to a pedestrian dominated realm with large avenue tree plantings and integrated artworks. Public transport infrastructure and links will also feature prominently.
