As part of the Footscray Renewal Program, BKK undertook the design of the new Footscray Bus Interchange. The bus interchange needs to accommodate 14 buses, retail spaces and change facilities for cyclists. The functional is elevated to an important piece of civic infrastructure through and engaging, layered approach to design. The complicated interplay of intermodal transport interchange, traffic and pedestrians required a co-ordinated response to resolve this complex arrangement and achieve a simple, easily negotiated and legible design for its users.
