Shepherds Bridge marks a major gateway between Footscray, Melbourne Port and the CBD for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians alike. The design adopts a repeating frame element as the basic unit of construction for the footbridge, pathways and balustrades. This approach provides a cost effective means to fabricate trusses to the complex curvatures required. We have deliberately established a strong formal language that seamlessly transitions from one end of the crossing to the other. The modular design is readily and affordably fabricated, transported and assembled.
