Baxter House is about three interacting elements: the clients, the site, and the ideas we brought to the project.
In any BKK project, the clients and the site drive the design equally.
We think a lot about liveability, spatial typologies and materiality, which are all important to how people occupy a house.
For this new house at the northern end of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, we were interested in how the individual spaces interacted with each other and with the surrounding landscape. We wanted to use these interactions to create a stimulating home for a family.
