It has two frontages: one a low-rise suburban streetscape and the other a landscape corridor with a bike path. Our design acknowledges both, twisting and deflecting to negotiate the block’s steeply sloping levels and face the sun.

Both homes are designed to adapt to different types of occupation. Though a simple alteration, each can be transformed into separate apartments so occupants can, for example, rent one out, provide for live-in care or house an extended family.
The adaptable design is a strong sustainability feature: they will be changed rather than replaced.
